Lady Barbara Thomas Judge

Lady Barbara Thomas Judge is Chairman of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, Chairman of the School of Oriental & African Studies and Deputy Chairman of Friends Provident plc. She is also senior independent director of Quintain Estates and Development plc and a director of PA Consulting, among others.

In addition, she is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts, as well as being on the Governing Body of The Ditchley Foundation and a director of the Lauder Institute of International Management at the Wharfton School and a member of the Trilateral Commissioning.

Prior thereto, she was a founder and Chairman of Private Equity Investor plc, £100m fund of funds listed on the London Stock Exchange, and was the first woman board director of Samuel Montagu & Co (when she resided in Hong Kong) and of News International plc. She was also the youngest ever Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
